Our AML Policy and Verification

We hold licence MGA/B2C/394/2017 from the Malta Gaming Authority, and that licence obliges us to know who plays at Misterx Casino. On this page we explain exactly what we verify, when, why, and what happens if a check is not completed.

Our Commitment to AML Rules

The legal framework we operate under

Under our MGA licence and the Prevention of Money Laundering and Funding of Terrorism Regulations, we must run a full anti-money-laundering programme. Our Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) oversees it, supported by a dedicated compliance team that reports directly to management and, where required, to the Malta Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit.

We treat every account as a potential risk to be assessed, not a formality. That means customer due diligence at the right moments, ongoing monitoring of activity, and internal escalation whenever something looks inconsistent with what we know about a player. We do not accept deposits from third parties, and we do not return funds to anyone other than the verified account holder.

When We Verify Your Account

Verification triggers

Verification is not a single event. We carry it out at three points: shortly after registration, before your first withdrawal, and whenever a threshold or a risk signal requires it. Identity, address and payment method checks are completed before any withdrawal is released, and each check takes up to 48 hours to process.

CheckDocuments we acceptWhen it applies
IdentityPassport, driving licence or national ID cardAt registration and before first withdrawal
AddressUtility bill, bank statement or council tax bill dated within 3 monthsBefore first withdrawal and on address change
Payment methodPhoto of card (middle digits covered), bank statement or e-wallet screenshotBefore first withdrawal to that method
Source of fundsPayslips, tax returns, bank statements or sale contractsOn request at higher thresholds

How Verification Works Step by Step

From upload to approval

Everything happens inside your account, so no documents ever travel by email or live chat. Our reviewers check that names, dates and addresses match across documents and across the account profile. If anything is unclear, we ask for one specific replacement rather than restarting the whole check.

  • Log in and open the Verification section of your account.
  • Upload photos or scans of your ID and proof of address.
  • Add the payment method you intend to withdraw to, if not already saved.
  • Our team reviews within 48 hours and updates the status in your account.
  • You receive an email the moment verification is approved or if a document needs replacing.

How your documents are protected

Uploads are transferred over encrypted connections and stored on access-controlled servers in the European Economic Area. Only trained compliance staff can open verification files, every access is logged, and documents are never shared with game providers or marketing partners.

Why We May Ask About Funds

A legal obligation, not suspicion

If your deposits grow well beyond typical play for your profile, or a single large win is withdrawn and the pattern around it looks unusual, we must ask where the money comes from. It is a routine legal requirement under our MGA licence, not an accusation.

Acceptable evidence includes payslips, employment contracts, self-employed accounts, tax returns, dividend or rental income statements, pension statements, or documentation of an asset sale or inheritance. One clear document is usually enough. We assess it, record our conclusion, and return to normal monitoring.

We keep the request as narrow as possible and never ask for more than the regulation actually requires.

How We Monitor Transactions

Deposits, withdrawals and limits

Our systems screen every deposit and withdrawal against your profile, playing history and risk rating. Withdrawals are returned by the same method you deposited with wherever technically possible; crypto withdrawals go back to the originating wallet address. Minimum deposit is £20, minimum withdrawal £10, and caps are £5,000 per day and £20,000 per month.

Automated alerts flag structured deposits just below thresholds, rapid deposit-and-withdraw cycles without genuine play, and payments attempted from accounts in a different name. Each alert is reviewed by a person, not just software.

If Verification Fails or Stalls

What we do, in order

When a check fails or documents are not provided, we act proportionately. Withdrawals are held first, because that is where the legal risk sits; gaming can continue in the short term while you gather documents, but not indefinitely.

  • Withdrawal requests are paused until verification is complete.
  • If no documents arrive within 30 days, deposits are blocked as well.
  • After a further 30 days, the account is suspended and we attempt to return the remaining balance to a verified account in your name.
  • Repeated submission of false or forged documents leads to permanent closure and, where the law requires it, a report to the authorities.

Your right to respond

You may appeal any decision through our support team at [email protected], available 24/7 by live chat and email. Decisions can be revisited if you supply better or additional evidence.

How Long We Keep Records

Retention periods set by law

We retain verification documents and transaction records for five years after the end of the business relationship, or five years after a suspicious transaction, whichever the Money Laundering Regulations prescribe. Retention is a legal duty: it lets the Malta Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit reconstruct a financial trail if an investigation is ever opened.

After the retention period expires, documents are securely destroyed and you receive no further requests about them. Access during the retention window remains restricted to compliance staff and, where legally compelled, to the competent authorities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I withdraw before verification is complete?

No. Identity, address and payment method checks must be completed before your first withdrawal is released. Processing takes up to 48 hours once documents are uploaded.

Can I black out details on my card photo?

Yes. Cover the middle eight digits on the front; the first six and last four digits, plus your name and expiry date, must remain visible so we can confirm the card belongs to you.

Why was I asked for source of funds after a big win?

When deposits or withdrawals exceed what fits your profile, our MGA licence requires us to confirm where the money originates. A payslip, tax return or bank statement is normally sufficient.

Do you send my documents anywhere?

No. Documents stay on encrypted, access-controlled servers within the EEA and are seen only by trained compliance staff. They are never shared with game providers or marketing partners.

What happens if I never send my documents?

Withdrawals are paused immediately, deposits are blocked after 30 days, and the account is suspended after a further 30 days with any remaining balance returned to a verified account in your name.
